Unfriended was released on April 17, 2015 and was excitedly watched by teens everywhere.

Rated: R

Executive producer: Jason Blum

Screenplay: Nelson Greaves

Producers: Timur Bekmametov, Nelson Greaves

The whole movie was in the perspective of the main character looking at her computer screen which created a unique perspective and added a whole new element to the typically scary movie. Although the plot was lacking with no real backstory, it made it up with jump scares and a twist ending.

The one thing that stood out in this movie was its interpreted meaning. Cyber bullying in this generation is huge, since technology plays a big part in our social life’s. This movie most certainly shows that since the characters are interacting through Skype and various other social networks like facebook. It also shows the great impact that animosity online and anonymous posting can have on people.

Some things that effected the grade on the movie was that there was not really a plot or a clear ending. It consisted mostly of dialogue since it took place on a computer, and the ending posed many unanswered questions, and had no wrap up; leaving the viewer confused.

This movie also brought in other aspects like comedy. When I watched the film, I never jumped or got scared (mostly because I have watched countless scary movies and they don’t faze me) but I did laugh a lot during it. People got attached to characters and would pick their favorite which shows that the characters are believable, and the acting brought the movie to life.

Visuals and perspectives are unique +5/5

Meaning and message are good +5/5

Plot is lacking: +0/5

Ending is kind of confusing +1/5

Comedy,  and horror +5/5

Suspense and quality +4/5

Overall Grade:  20/30

Overall I think this is a great movie for teenagers to watch if they enjoy scary movies and also serves as a reminder that what you do and say on the internet has an impact.
