Angry Birds was created by a Finnish programmer in 2009. It has been referred to as one of the greatest games of all time. Over 12 million copies have been purchased from the Apple App Store. This prompted the creators to make even more versions of the highly addicting game. Angry Birds requires the wingless birds to be catapulted over to destroy all of the pigs stationed in the structure. While the creators were making the game they realized the birds needed to have an enemy. At the time there was the “Swine Flu Epidemic,” thus making the pigs the birds’ enemies. Angry Birds revenue in 2012 was $200 million. The game took number one in the most downloaded free Apps list.

Flappy Bird was created in 2013 by a Vietnamese game developer. Like the “new Angry Birds” it is the most downloaded App on the Apple App Store as of January 2014. The object of the game is to fly the bird by tapping the screens to get through the green metal pipes. Every time the bird gets through a pipe the player receives a point. If the bird hits the pipe the game is over. When the game is over there is a screen that shows your best score, and the score you got during this one try. The Verge reported Flappy Bird was averaging about $50,000 per day in profits.

The addictive aspect of Angry Birds is that it requires the player to carefully and precisely aim the birds towards the pigs. Once that level has been accomplished, it enables the player to move up to the next level.  Along with that, there are upgrades of birds to ensure harder challenges for the player playing this game. Flappy Bird on the other hand has no special upgrade or challenges. The player would just simply tap the screen to get the little bird to go through the green poles. Angry Bird is the better game because of its better graphics, a more challenging style that requires the player to think in order to move on to the next level. Angry Bird has always been a fan favorite. Topping the chart of most downloaded game, Angry Bird has become a phenomenon these years. Flappy Bird on the other hand has finally ended, the owner has officially taken the game down from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store citing “I cannot take this anymore” on Twitter. Flappy Bird popularity was too quick and too fast to die. Comparing both of these games, Angry Bird is the better game.
