Band Concert Preview

 

The Blaine High School band is having their annual band concert on December 17th at 7 o’clock In the Blaine High School auditorium.  The freshman, Repertoire, and concert bands will be performing.  Tickets are $3 for adults and$2 for students and seniors.

The freshman band will perform first.  They will be conducted by their band teacher Bruce Olson.  They will be playing some songs you may know.  Among these are Christmas Adoration, African Bell Carol and Holiday Sleigh Ride.  There will be solos during these performances.  The variety of solos will be performed by Marc Wisniewsk, Ben DeGroat, Anthony Brown and Brianna Wesloh.

The Repertoire band will perform next.  They will be conducted by Peter Buller.  They will also play some songs you may know.  These are: How the Grinch Stole Christmas and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.  Unfortunately there is not going to be any solos during the Repertoire part of the concert.

Last but not least, the Concert band will be performing.  They will be performing A Showstoppin’ Christmas and Concertante among others.  During Concertante All-State Tuba Soloist Alec Paquin will be performing a Tuba Solo.

In summary, the students, Mr. Olson and Mr. Buller are working hard in preparing for their annual holiday concert.  They are very excited to perform December 17th at 7 o’clock in the BHS auditorium.
