At 1:30 pm on April 22, the Blaine High School girls golf team had their first meet at Shamrock, Minnesota against other schools in their section. The weather was hot and sunny, perfect weather for playing golf. There were some people who had sunburn as well.

Our #1 Caroline Andrews (12) shot 73 and got 1st place in the whole tournament. Our #2 Jenna Francen (12) shot 89, and #3 Samantha Auman (10) shot 80.

They thought that Andover High School would be their toughest competitor because of how well they did last year, but that turned out not to be the case.

Apparently they lost 6 people and they turned out to be not as good as they were last year. “All the teams were very young so there wasn’t much competition,” says Samantha Auman.

They have a meet next Thursday, April 30th with more schools but there’s only 9 holes so they have a mixture of excitement and nervousness.
