So, you want to join a club.

With COVID-19, many people are confused and distraught about how to navigate Blaine High School. Some of you may want to join a club but are confused and likely frustrated with the process. You’re not alone. Take it from me, in 11th grade, who in 9th grade, was hit with the rampant COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.

My 10th-grade school year was online. Now I have to navigate Blaine High School in real life during what is considered a difficult school year for many. The school even physically looks different. When I was in 9th grade, the new front entrance and some of the new classrooms weren’t there.

For those looking for clubs, you can find the club information on the Blaine High School website that displays the club names along with the location(s) and meeting days. There may be some clubs that you may not be allowed to join this school year, for example, BPA (Business Professionals of America), already started in autumn of 2021, but don’t fret. You can join next school year, and there are still loads of clubs available.

What I recommend is finding one or two clubs that you are passionate about. Ones that you make a priority to attend and commit to. If you try to join five different clubs, you may feel stressed out, and there may be conflicting schedules between some of your clubs. Some popular clubs at Blaine High School are BPA (Business Professionals of America), HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), Bengals In Action (BIA), and of course, the Blueprint!

Note that clubs at Blaine High School would welcome you with open arms, so don’t be afraid to take action. If you’re a self-starter and have an incredible club idea, you can actually make a club at Blaine High School, I did. I created the South Asian Association. Make sure to find an advisor (a staff member at Blaine High School) and figure out a time and location, then fill out this form:
