Blaine High Schools Softball B Team  faced old time rivals the Coon Rapids Cardinals. Blaine’s Coach Halvorsen prepares for victory and the players are pumped for the game. The game starts, and pitcher Miranda Fangel (9) strikes out two people in the beginning of the game. The hard wind could become a big challenge in the game. The first run goes to Coon Rapids.

Start of the second, Miranda scores the first run tying the game 1 to 1. Natascha Anderson (10) gets four balls and bewilderment struck everyone as she made a run forcing her teammates to move bases as well. The pitcher threw the ball to first while two Blaine players ran home. Finally, the ump called it a force out, no runs counted. After the second inning, people are left open jawed and stunned at the umps call.

In a scoreless third inning, catcher Maddi Pederson (8) got an out at second, Miranda caused a strikeout, and there was an out on first.

Arianna Renteria (11) starts off the fourth with a walk to first. Another pop fly results in a Blaine run. Bases loaded; Coon Rapids needs one more out. They end up getting a strikeout, but Blaine slides home 4 times.

With the start of the fifth there are two strikes and a girl on third, this could be a quick inning. The Coon Rapids team decides to run on third which gets a double out and the end of the fifth. The cold weather could be making the Cardinals ancy.

Emily Johnson (9) starts the six with a big hit that gets her to second. With a hard hit by Maddi Blaine gets another run home. Coon Rapids pitcher must have a bum arm because she has walked ten people in the game. With all the bad pitches the score is 15/1 and Coon Rapids fans are starting to leave, they can’t stand to watch the slaughter.

The final countdown and the seventh inning starts with two strikeouts, obviously Miranda has a cannon for an arm. It’s all down to number 22 from Coon Rapids. The anticipation resonated from the opponent’s side lines. With a grounder she’s out. Blaine ends the game with a colossal victory of 15/1!
