Senior Jack Micek, an athelete at Blaine High School, is an influential charactor because of his athletic ability, loving soul and enjoyable precence.
Hockey is Jacks main sport followed by lacrosse. He was assigned captain of the hockey team after the following season of 2011-2012. Micek also got invited to the Northwest Suberban Leadership Conference.
During his very first season of playing lacrosse he got named Rookie of the Year.
Jack said he has one brother Jay and a loving family.
Being a captain of the boys hocking team is a very honorable role that holds great responsibility because of all followers that you have. From ages 6 to 18 you have hockey players who not only wish they could play varsity but idolize the people that do.
Jack Micek (12) said “The little guys look up to you” .
Last year the boys hockey team made it to the sections finals but failed to advance to state.
When I asked Cody Johnson, a bengal hockey fan, about the section final game he said “I looked behind me to talk to one of my buddies and when I looked back the score was already 6-0 and we were losing”
After asking Jack Micek about the previous section game (15-1 loss) he told me that “We’re going to have to prove everyone wrong and let them know that we are a great team”.
” The ‘Hockey Life’ comes with many benefits” said Jack . As he was laughing he told me “We get perks with the ladies and teachers”.
“It’s a lifestyle” Micek explained “We’ve got our own look and personality”. The boys on the team are very close to eachother and all get alone. It is a special experience that not very many people get to be apart of.
The players on the team mean a lot to Jack. “I love the guys and I would do anything for them, they’re my family” Jack said.
Although the season has yet to start, Jack looks forward to a good one. He expects the team “to do great and win a state tourny”.
There first game is home and they’ll be playing the Roseau Rams at forgerty.
Jack wanted to thank the fans in advance for their support and love. “See you there” said Micek.
