Kayla Couffland (12) said she “expected them to win”.

Game number one was close with a score of 26-24 (Blaine). Game number two was a blowout of 25-11 (Blaine). The final game was 25-19 (Blaine).

Lydia Dimke (11) said “We kind of let our nerves get in the way in the first game but once we calmed down we really played strong and as a team”.

Bemidji mom Jeni Bardwell, mother of Blake Bardwell (number 8 on Bemidji), said “It’s hard on the girls to come four hours away to play but they are very exited to be here”.

The Bengals looked solid out there for game one but do they have what it takes to get past round two in the state tournament?

“In order to win tomorrow we’re going to need good ball control. Serving and passing is key in volleyball so once we get those elements down we should play really solid.” said Dimke.

Easton Brodzinski (10) said “They’re going to dominate out there. I’ve got faith in them”.

The motto for the volleyball team is “Unfinished Buisness” because of the outcome of last years state Tournament. They lost first round. But after game one they are one step closer to thier goal.

The team will play again today at 11:00 am playing Eden Prairie  at the Xcel.
