I interviewed Aiden Pederson, a fellow student, about what it’s like being in pep band and whether it is worth it to join a music class. Here it is:

Me: So, why’d you join pep band?

Aiden: It’s a requirement for band class. Not necessarily something a person joins.

Me: Are there any other ways to join besides through band class?

Aiden: Nope. Not that I know of.

Me: What is it like being in pep band?

Aiden: It depends on the game. Basically, you play band music and the Bengal Fight Song before the game and in between periods, timeout music during timeouts, and a short version of the fight song when we score a goal in hockey.

Me: So far, what is your favorite part of pep band?

Aiden: The fact that you are at the gigs with friends.

Me: Would you recommend that people sign up for band class?

Aiden: Yes. Band’s a great learning experience and it’s really fun. Plus, there’s the part where you get to perform at concerts in front of an actual audience.
