On Tuesday March 1st the presidential caucuses took place in multiple places across the United states of America. The running candidates for the democrats were Hillary Clinton, and Bernie Sanders, while the republican candidates were Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and the all famous Donald Trump. The presidential election that was taken a little too lightly, left people in shock. Mostly Minnesotans.

The one person who everyone thought was a joke, had actually made it to the top, and left everyone speechless. Who is this mystery candidate? If you guessed Donald trump, ding! ding! ding! You were right! Ahead by 90 delegates, you can only see how people reacted. Minnesota being the first state not to give him that first place victory, followed closely by Nevada, was left speechless as Trump’s results rolled in. Ruwayda Mohamed(12th grade) stated that “ I am happy that he lost in Minnesota, because I would have lost faith in this democratic state if he had won,”. Donald trump might have had a strong support system here in Minnesota, but it wasn’t as strong as it is in other states. Lizzy Gunder(9th grade) states that, “ I was surprised , only because he’s done so well in many states, that he came in third.”

With a 49% support in the united states, it seems only logical that he wins the republican primaries. The question that still stands, why is it so hard for us to actually believe he’d win?
