On Wednesday, March 23, in a match up with the Los Angeles Clippers, Stephen Curry, the NBA’s last year MVP, leader in scoring, and the current holder of the record for 3 pointers made in the history of the association, suffered a critical injury to his left middle fingernail while attempting to shoot a 3 pointer from 53 feet (30 beyond the 3pt line).

The Warriors still managed to get a win in OT, however the future of the franchise could be compromised if this is a lingering issue for Curry, as he consumes a large part of their salary cap and has a contract for the next 5 seasons. IF Steph’s fingernail ever does heal, he might never be the same shooter he was before. This could be the end of the future dynasty everyone predicted Golden State would become. The head coach of the Warriors, Steve Kerr, said in the post game interview, that “We are going to have to take it one game at a time, but without Curry and healthy fingernails, it’s going to be a bumpy road from here.”

The Warriors currently hold the best record in the league, and were on track to make NBA history, as well as win 2 championships consecutively, but with Steph Curry out, it might not happen. With Donald Trump as the backup PG, designated to replace Steph, who knows where this franchise will be at the end of the season. Trump, who payed the Warriors a small fee of one billion dollars to be on the team this season, said that “Steph was only hindering the team and now with him as the star they will become great.” Tell that to Curry’s 30.5 points per game average and 2.0 Assist to Turnover ratio. For now, the future does not look bright for this young team, and their hopes of the winning the championship look to have been compromised.  (This is a satire piece and was written for entertainment purposes only and is in no way true.)
