The Robotics Team is a team (and formerly a club) at here at Blaine High School. The first meeting was held last Tuesday. There were many new participants who were excited for the upcoming season, especially the freshmen. Robotics plans to meet every one or two weeks for about an hour. The exact dates for the meetings have not yet been determined. Any Blaine student is allowed to participate.

Mr. Nestrud is the advisor for Robotics. Robotics works with different areas of engineering such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and programming. Blaine placed third in the Minnesota state FIRST Robotics competition (Recycle Rush) last year, where their robot stacked various different trash and recycling bins on top of each other. This year, they will try to improve upon that ranking. The season (and the designing and building of the robot) will kick off in early January 2016, just after the ending of winter break. The next meeting will be after school, on Thursday, October 22.
