Fast. That’s one way you could describe Bengal Athlete and Boys Varsity Soccer captain Jeremy Coello. He adds athleticism and leadership to a potent Blaine team. Coello is currently sitting at 5 points and is sure to add more in the upcoming sections game against Coon Rapids.

A fun and energetic guy, I met him in the locker room before soccer practice to ask him a few questions.

Jon Ababiy: What do you think is your biggest achievement or accomplishment?

Jeremy Coello: It’s definitely being on varsity for 3 years.

Jon Ababiy: Is there anything you attribute to your success? What do you think makes you good?

Jeremy Coello: Athleticism, being fast.

Jon Ababiy: What do you love about soccer, why do you play?

Jeremy Coello: It’s the first sport I ever started playing and I grew up playing with my dad. I just love it.

Jon Ababiy: How is it like being a Captain?

Jeremy Coello: It’s an honor, It’s really been my dream to lead a team.

Jon Ababiy: Is there anything you do before a game?

Jeremy Coello: No. I just play.

Jon Ababiy: Is there anyone you look up to or is an inspiration for you?

Jeremy Coello: My dad.

Jon Ababiy: Do you plan to do anything soccer related after High school?

Jeremy Coello: Yeah. I want to play soccer in college?

Jon Ababiy: Do you know where?

Jeremy Coello: No, I’m not sure yet.

Jon Ababiy: The Blaine Boys soccer team is currently 6-8-2 heading into sections with a game against rival Coon Rapids. Any expectations or predictions of the score?

Jeremy Coello: I am very confident going into the game against coon rapids. Last time we played them we won 5-1 and that was before our team finally came together. I’m going to predict a 3-1 win knowing that they’re coming after us but this game is ours

Jon Ababiy: Thank you Jeremy! Come support the Bengals as they play the Cardinals at 7 pm in the Bengals Stadium.
