BHS Nerf War

The Blaine High School 2nd annual Nerf War got kicked off on May 5th 2015! What it is, is a bunch of people pay the operators of the war $30 to enter a team of 5. You use Nerf products such as fake guns to shoot people with a dart. If you get them out, you have to take a picture with them or your “kill” doesn’t count.

The object is not to stay in the longest, but to get the most “kills”. The first week, if you get out, you’d be eliminated for the rest of the week. You could help your team out, but you couldn’t legally get another person out. The second week, there were revives every night at midnight.

We interviewed many underclassmen and asked if they thought that the whole game was rigged. “Yes, totally” said Chase Harper, from the team “Toon Squad”.  There were many complaints that the seniors were winning the first week, but at the end of the week they started to play fair when they realized they couldn’t get away with everything. Emily Brown from the “First Liners” thought that the second week was better but she and the rest of her team knew that the seniors were still going to win the money. The seniors did end up winning. That week was close for the team “Toon Squad” and “Dream Team” who were both underclassmen. They almost won the pot of money. When the seniors realized that, they knew they needed to step up and be more sneaky about their cheating.
