When going to a movie theater on a day off of school, most students expect a great, just relaxing and fun time. But student, Aunaca Novak was in for a treat. It was the second day off of school due to low windchills, and Aunaca and her friend Nicole decided to go to the East Bethel movie theater while babysitting their little neighbor, Gavin, despite the frigid cold temperatures. They were going to see the new disney movie, Frozen. When they arrived at the theater they purchased some popcorn and an icee to snack on during the show. Everything seemed perfectly normal. Aunaca, Nicole, and Gavin all headed to take their seats. Once they reached the theater they climbed up the stairs to sit relatively towards the middle. Gavin sat perfectly between Nicole and Aunaca. Nothing seemed relatively strange or weird in the theater, for the only other people in the theater was a mother and her three children, all of young ages, who came and sat behind the group. The movie was about to start, when all of a sudden the woman behind Aunaca started touching her hair. The woman then proceeded to braid her hair… Aunaca quickly jumped, because that’s just a normal reaction when someone who is a complete stranger is touching your hair. Aunaca and Nicole didn’t really know what to do, so all they did was glare at this strange woman who felt the urge to touch, and play with Aunaca’s hair. The group quickly moved down a few rows in front because Aunaca had become paranoid. All she could think was , “Why was this woman touching my hair? Who even is she? Why did she feel the need to start to braid my hair”. Nicole, Gavin, and paranoid Aunaca stayed and watched the whole movie, but as soon as it was over they dashed out of there because neither of the girls, and probably not Gavin, would want to interact with this stranger again. This seemingly innocent and fun day at the movie theater quickly changed into a strange, weird experience. But hey, the movie was FANTASTIC!!!!
