The Friday night lights shone brightly once again for the Blaine Bengals at Centennial High School. The students wore blaze orange as if they were “hunting cougars”. Both teams began the game with two common losses; Maple Grove and Osseo. Within the first minute, the Cougars got a touchdown and missed the extra point but the Bengals fought for their first touchdown of the night and got the extra point. The score was 7-6 Blaine in the lead. The second quarter sped by, with Centennial getting another touchdown, but Blaine pulled ahead with two more touchdowns. The score was 21-14, Blaine in the lead. The third quarter blew by. The fourth quarter had two amazing things happen; Logan Nelson [11] succeeded in catching an extra point made by the Cougars and linebacker Caleb Butler [12] got a touchdown, also known as a Pick 6 for linebackers, for the first time. The final score was 42-20.
