On Friday and Saturday, April 19th and 20th, Blaine High School hosted the State Speech Tournament.
Students from different schools who advanced at the Sections Tournament held earlier this month, competed against each other.
At the Sections Competition, BHS had 17 members that were finalists, and 7 members that advanced to the State Tournament. This was a school record.
The 7 students that represented BHS at State were: Rachel Rystedt (12), Asha Warsame (11), Jacob Hanson (12), Kalli Doyle (12), Christian Vasquez (12), Shilvi Joshi (12), and Lauren Hince (11). Out of the 7, Rachel Rystedt (12) and Kalli Doyle (12) were finalists.
The speech team, also, concluded a strong season as 5AA Speech Champions; the first time in BHS speech history.
Congratulations to the coaches, and students for a wonderful season! And the BHS speech team looks forward to a even stronger showing next year!
