On Friday, March 22nd the annual Tiger Talent Show was held in the auditorium at Blaine High School.
At 7:00 pm the emcees Casey McCarty (10) and Monte Jacks (11) announced the first act, Matt Liston (11) and Eric Entsminger (12), who opened the evening with their performance. The second act was Isaac Ewumi (12). Dunia Tesfaye (9) followed right after him. The first highlight was Carlee O’Donnell (11), who presented her an acoustic version of “I knew you were trouble” by Taylor Swift. Next on stage was Garrett Gessell (10), singing “The Cave” by Mumford and Sons.
Further acts of the evening were Halie Waxon, Ashrene Mohammed, Adam Budnick, Mikenzie Ess, Stephon Renee, Juno Vang, Cody Neft, Danielle Peterson, Leroy Massaquoi, Darius Adams, Maddie Parrow, Carly Odegard and “The Brassholes” (Logan Micek, Oscar Martinez-Portillo, Hunter Lardy, Shawn Bourgeois).
While the judges were taking their time to decide about the winner, something unexpected and cute happened on stage: Casey McCarty (10), one of the emcees, presented a song together with two of the candidates to ask one surprised Carlee O’Donnell (11) to prom.
Finally the judges (Dave Christensen, Katie Eichele, Ross Eichele, Rachel Karel) announced their decision: Garrett Gessel was the winner of the 2013 Tiger Talent Show!
All proceeds of the evening are being donated to the Blaine Community Scholarship Fund. All food donations will support the BHS Tiger Takeout program.
All the show participants did a great job, congratulations to all!
