On the morning of September 10, Blaine High school was vandalized.

Paint was sprayed on the Blaine High School sign next to the flagpole, on the cement walls, and even on the cement floor. Officer Evans said, “We think it’s someone from Coon Rapids…we have footage from our school’s cameras.”

Principal John Phelps made a school announcement regarding the graffiti, and said there was a one hundred dollar reward for the name of the person who did it.

Andrew Peterson (11) said, “This is the first time I have ever seen or heard something like this happen. I can’t believe someone would have the disrespect to do that. I’m just glad Officer Evans has a lead. Ya’ know?”

Asha Warsame (11) said, “I’m glad they have found a lead of who sprayed the paint on Blaine because if the punishment is severe enough, it will be an example for others that it is not okay to disrespect our school. However I’m not sure if it was best that Principal Phelps said how much the cash reward was, I thought it would have been cool if it was a mystery amount of cash.”

Michael Spartz (11) had a different view to the issue, ” I actually thought it was funny when our school got vandalized, and I don’t believe that the person who did it should be punished, I mean if I did it I don’t think I should be punished. It was a joke.”

Anybody that has a lead in this case or knows of the person who actually did it, is asked to tell a teacher, counselor, or any staff member at Blaine High School immediately.
