Boys’ Basketball: Coon Rapids at Blaine

If a team on a nine game losing streak could look like an undefeated team, the Blaine Bengals did it on Thursday night at home, when they hosted the winless Coon Rapids Cardinals.  Blaine thoroughly dominated their conference rivals and rolled to a 67-30 victory.

Senior captain Joe Robel(12) stepped up for Blaine with team highs for points (12) and steals (4).

Kyle Cappard(9) was the first Blaine freshman to see extensive varsity minutes this season.  Cappard is a point guard who looks to make an impact with his quickness and playmaking ability. He scored 8 points on Thursday.

Coon Rapids couldn’t get a shot to fall for them. They made 11 baskets all game, compare that to Blaine’s 26 field goals.

Senior Jake Romick(12) came just shy of a double-double for Blaine, recording 9 points and 8 rebounds.

Next up for Blaine (6-12) is a tough conference matchup in Elk River on Tuesday, February 5th.
