Kiersten Falck (11) a student at Blaine High School, has been playing soccer for 12 years and hockey for 9 years. Falck recently went to state with the Blaine High School Soccer team, but sadly lost to the Wayzata Trojans 4-1.
In soccer, Falck plays midfield and forward. In hockey, she plays forward. “I would say I am more of a mid-field/offensive minded person because I am always looking to help out the team.”
Besides playing Soccer and hockey, Falck also has many other interests as well. “I also participate in Track and Field for the high school, but I love to just go hang out with friends every weekend. I go to every possible school sport event that I can because that is my social time and I love to be around people.” said Falck.
Out of all the sports Falck participates in, her favorite is hockey, she plans to continue playing it through college. “I plan to play college hockey and I have no idea what to major in, I am completely undecided on where I will go; it could be almost anywhere at this point. However, I am narrowing down my options which is nice, and [playing] college sports is like a job. They are really fun, but they can be overwhelming with school work as well. But when you love the game, it’s hard to hate it.” said Falck.
In 2014, Falck is planning to graduate with the rest of her now junior class. If Falck could leave behind one message for her peers at Blaine it would be “Do not be afraid to open yourself up these four years. Do everything you possibly can to get good grades but have unlimited fun at the same time. Don’t waste your time on friends that you don’t absolutely love to see. People will like you because of who you are, so be yourself” said Falck.
Falck is grateful for many things in her life, most of all her parents. “My parents are honestly my saviors. Sports have opened the window for everything in my life, and without the opportunities they offered to me, I would be living a completely different life. My parents sacrificed so much to make my life better and I am extremely grateful” said Falck.
Besides her parents, Falck wouldn’t be who she is today if not for all the people she has met. “I honestly believe that every single person I have met along the way has shaped me to be who I am today and I hope to keep it that way. Experience is everything and there are so many experiences I have dealt with, I could basically write a book for you all!” Falck said. Sounds like a best seller!
Being a influence and a leader to her peers, and still being friendly and hardworking, Kiersten Falck is one of a kind.
