The presidential election is just around the corner and Blaine High School is buzzing. Freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors are all sharing their opinions on political issues.
Walking down the hallway you may see students wearing political slogans, whether it’s a “Vote No”, or “Vote Yes” button, to handmade political t-shirts demonizing a certain candidate.
This year students are voicing their opinions, and some will have the have the opportunity for the first time to have an actual say in the election.
Seniors who are 18 will be able to vote this Tuesday. When interviewing students who are able to vote, many would not share their opinion on politics, or simply did not know who they were voting for yet.
“I am voting for Barack Obama because I feel like he has been a really good president for our country so far, for the last four years. His policies are something I truly believe in. I’m really excited about this election because it’s my first election…” said Birki Tia (12).
“I will be voting for Mitt Romney on Tuesday because he is what America needs. Obama is ruining this country, and he knows business.” said an anonymous source.
“I’m going to vote for Barack Obama, because I believe he’s the right man for the job, and he sounds like he has good plans for the country.”, said Austin Castle(12).
With all the feedback received about this presidential election, the penny is still in the air.
