From the power of his voice to the history of his music Chris Cornell was by far more than just talented when it came to his music career. Selling over 30 million records worldwide Chris Cornell was one of the leading musicians of the grunge movement.

Cornell was found dead Wednesday, May 17th in his hotel room after performing his final concert in Detroit. According to Foxnews.com, the family of Cornell has claimed that the beloved rocker “intentionally took his life” after an autopsy revealed that Cornell had hung himself.

According to Detroitnews.com, a police report stated that Cornell’s wife Vicky had asked his bodyguard to go and check on her husband after having an unusual phone conversation with Cornell in which he kept reiterating “I am just tired”.

At age 52 Chris Cornell’s fans will not only mourn their idols death but celebrate what the musician had accomplished. Temple of the Dog, Audioslave and his latest Soundgarden, Chris Cornell had a very successful music career. Now that Chris Cornell has passed, rock fans from the performer’s era have come to the realization that Eddie Vedder, the front man of Pearl Jam, is one of the few grunge icons that is left still living.

Though the production of grunge rock has faded into the past, its fan base remains strong. Chris Cornell’s music will not be left behind, it will be remembered now and for years to come.

Rest in peace Chris Cornell.
