The centennial took the 1-0 Win over Blaine last night with a goal late in the 3rd period. Blaine Forward Page Beebe also seemed to have scored a goal with 1.2 seconds left but it was called back.

The first period was an even fight. Blaine was on the powerplay several time but could not seem to get the puck on the net. Centennial defense held strong and took away many blaine chances. With a Minute to go after a Centennial defensive slip up Blaine came down a breakaway but was stopped by impressive Centennial Goalie, Amanda Hayes. Hayes had an impressive game, earning a shoutout by  stopping 20 of 20 shots.

The second period started with a bang with centennial on the high energy offensive, continuously blasting shots from the point. Heather Loyal, the centennial starting center made many key passes throughout the period. After a missed Blaine Power Play  opportunity the game slowed down into an even fight were University of Minnesota Commit Emily Brown rightfully shined. Her skating was top notch as she created tons of chances for the tired Bengals. Brown, the captain of the team, powered her team through the second period but blaine simply couldn’t finish their chances.

The third period featured lots of penalties and missed opportunities. Morgan Cin went in the box for a 5 minute major which gave Centennial an advantage they made sure to take. Taking 10 shots on goal in one powerplay. The Centennial offence was giving Blaine Defense a run for their money until Heather Loyal floated a pretty wrister top shelf over the head of goalie, Jenni Larson. From there things went Centennials way, They continuously made great passes and kept the puck out of their zone. But the young Blaine team managed to get a shot with one second left. The puck was in the net but Blaine defender Paige Beebe was in the crease so the Referee made the right decision and called it no Goal. This was met with not much fanfare as the blaine fans made a lot of noise but sadly no noise could reverse the decision. The Centennial Cougars took the 1-0 win over Blaine.
